Training Clinics

MMTC coordinates clinics throughout the year to help with various aspects of triathlon. Most are free for members, but some have an additonal cost to pay for the instructor's time and/or facilities.

Hill Climbing Technique

Bob Reid leads free sessions in the Spring to cover the proper technique for climbing hills. These sessions are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced cyclists. The ride leaves from Ten Oaks Tavern parking lot (formerly know as MD's Country Pub) at the corner of Ten Oaks and Triadelphia Road. After an easy 2 mile ride to warm up the legs, Bob will cover hill technique on the Green Bridge hill of the Columbia Tri course. Those who are interested can stay for hill repeats to practice correct technique.

  • Session 1: Saturday, March 20, 2010, 9 am - no registration required
  • Session 2: Sunday, April 18, 2010, 9 am - no registration required

Swim Technique for Triathletes

Spring swim technique clinics will be held at the McDonogh School Pool in Owings Mills, MD. Each clinic is limited to 12 people.

The instructor is David Amato, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and professional personal trainer, who has coached swimming at both the club and college levels.

Cost is $110 per person, which includes a video of your session.
